You might not believe it!

Sunday will be fun! The Circus Elephant is arriving. Wear your red shoes and buckle up as Fellowship Church continues the series "The Elephant in the Room". The pass several weeks have hit the subject square in the head. I know many times I need to be presented with the truth, even if it hurts. The gossip series was very timely. On Thursday staff meeting Craig shared the message. This was different than what had been planned earlier and that afternoon I knew another reason why. I had gone for a hair cut and the person cutting shared with me their distaste for gossip and being hurt in the church. (No names given.) I was then able to share the short version of the message and meet someone who wasn't sure if a Church existed that would be bold in the subjects that have been taught over the past few weeks. Pray for this Hair Stylist to come and see a Church does exist that will be bold in following Christ and love all that come.

Lee Arrendale Worship

I am still in amazement and wonder from Saturday night. I cannot begin to put in to words the experience of worshiping with 800+ ladies who are not afraid to let loose and get down. My ears were still ringing Sunday morning.

Let me thank each and every one of you who came out and loved on these ladies, danced your heart out for them, held up your life stories in cardboard testimonies and were not afraid to get real for these ladies. Thank you for giving them the opportunity to experience communion for the first time in years. Craig said this morning that a lady came up to him and thanked him for bringing in the Lord's Supper because she had not been able to experience that in the 16 years that she had been incarcerated. The kind words, hugs, smiles, tears, and prayers did not go unnoticed.

I wanted to share with you a letter we received already from one of the ladies from Saturday.

"Mr. Howerton,

I thank God for you and Fellowship Church. A lot of churches come here and the messages are from the Word but there's a much needed freshness your pastor brings. He is REAL and I am so thankful.

My request is that if at all possible, would FC consider coming once a month. I believe they will be used to birth real revival here.

Again, thank God for you and the work He does in you and your church family that extends to us.

May grace, peace and God's love continually cover you.

Respectfully,
Jennifer Kelly"

I cannot thank y'all enough for everything Fellowship Church continues to do to impact this community. I am so blessed to be a part of such a church family. Thank you again.

Inpending World Calamity

Got your attention did I? I wanted to share my thoughts about the recent prophecy as given by David Wilkerson, author of the best selling "The Cross and the Switchblade".

It seems Pastor Wilkerson got a "word" from God concerning a "great calamity" that will cause event the godliest among us to shutter. Although he does not mention specific's such as dates and exact locations, he does go as far as mentioning NY City and the surrounding cities. Then the calamity such as fires and riots will spread across America and the world. He tells us to prepare by stockpiling a 30 day supply of non-perishable food, hygiene items and other important needs.

So what do we do with this? Not sure, but I can tell you how I am responding:

1. Why now, certainly things are not well, but I have seen in my lifetime people (Christians) exploit difficult times. It is because Christians do this that so many do not believe. I am not suggesting that this is the case with David Wilkerson, but the timing seems suspect.

2. I am not one that believes the Judgment of God will come on the just. I believe the rapture of the church (or second coming of Jesus) will take place and then the Tribulation period where God's judgment falls on those left behind. In my personal understanding of scripture I can't find where God will bring this judgment to the church. This does not mean that some of God's blessings have been removed and being removed, that is certainly evident in the resent collapse of our financial markets.

3. Why would the "godliest" of us be caused to shutter in fear. The Bible tells us that God does not give us a spirit of fear. In my lifetime I have seen many so called end times prophesies come and go, each time causing fear and confusion. The Bible clearly teaches that God is not the author (source) of confusion. We should all remember that Satan is the one who comes to cheat steal and destroy.

4. Why would God tell only David Wilkerson? Why do we not hear a resounding cry coming from all corners of the Church? In the OT God spoke to Israel through prophets, this was possible primarily due to the fact that Israel was one nation of people who were centrally located. Following Jesus' death and resurrection the church is scattered all over the world. I am not sure God uses Prophets to proclaim his message. God can certainly do whatever He wants to do, but I just don't see it.

One final thought: David Wilkerson is a person I respect and admire as a great man of God. I remember reading the Cross and the Switchblade and it have a profound impact on my life. I can't solidly say that he is wrong, I am just not ready to buy in. God calls us to live everyday as if it were the day Jesus would return. If we live that way then even if calamity comes, God is still Lord of my life and in control. I know He cares for me and would let nothing happen in my life that would harm me. So my response is to live like I live everyday and keep tell as many as I can about the life changing message of Jesus Christ.

The Goal - if Jesus is coming soon, let's get up a load.

'Til next time, CL

No one left Behind part II

It has been an exciting start to my week. I was reminded Sunday how fragile life really is!! My previous blog was centered around the thought that everyone mattered to God so they should matter us us.

My daughter was working at a local department store. She was assisting a 86 year old patron trying to find an item on an isle when this lady passed out in her arms. Little did she realize but this lady was having a massive heart attack and dying in her arms. (sounds far fetched but it really happened)

While the paramedics were attending to this sweat lady trying to revive her, my daughter and some employees closed the isle to give these professionals room to work. While they were standing there a man walked right past them but was quickly stopped. The situation was explained to him that the isle was closed while the paramedic's tried to revive this lady and bring her back to life. His response was "i only need one item and I will get it really quick" W.O.W.

How insensitive we have become as human beings when someone lay dying on the floor and all we can think about is what we need. Life became so insignificant because this man was not connected personally to lady lying on the floor.

But is that not the church today? People are dying all around us and all we can say as we step around them is "i only need one item and I will get it quickly" Are we moving at such a fast pace that people really don't matter. Their spiritual life is on the floor in front of us and no one has the time to hook them up to the spiritual defibrillator (God's Word) "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God".

Can I encourage you to stop and look around you this week. See who is spiritually on the floor and show them the life source "JESUS" and lets get people hooked -up. Here is a question I was asked many years ago by my mentor "how many lost people am I currently involved in their lives" If we are not careful we can look around us and all we will see is the same old Christians that we have been hanging around for years!!

PEOPLE MATTER TO GOD

Until all have Heard

Pastor Robbie

Told you so!

Hey Fellowship Church.

Wow what a day on Sunday. Can you believe we had 405? That blew me away. I arrived at 6:30 am on Sunday (yes, that early) and really was preparing for a small crowd given the fact that the weather was BAD, low 40's and rain, some snow.

As people began to arrive I thought maybe, then you kept coming and coming and pretty soon we had a full building.

Let me first off tell you how much I appreciate the Fellowship family for responding and attending the 9:15 service. By doing so you opened up room for 205 people to attend the second worship at 11:00. THANK YOU!

Also let me point you to the Wiki page I told you about last week. When you type in smart see what comes up under people. Told you so! And you laughed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki

See ya Sunday and let me remind you to invite someone who doesn't attend church this week.

Sunday

Did y'all see the elephant? If you didn't...I honestly think you should have your eyes examined!!! From peanuts all over the floor to medieval princess to Robin Hood to the Elephant in the Room...Fellowship Church pulled out all the stops yesterday and all I can say is THANK YOU! Each of you never stop amazing me!!! Despite the down pour of rain, the decreasing temperatures and the threat of snow, y'all came out and boy did GOD show out again. We had 193 in our first 9:15 service with a total of 405 for the day!!! The baptisms were amazing. Each of their testimonies shows if we invest in that one person, their whole lives can be changed.

During the next week, I hope you take a chance to invite that one person who has been weighing on your heart recently.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed week! Love yens
